Midtown’s First Annual Taco Crawl takes place Saturday, Aug. 19 from noon to 6 p.m. Grab a friend and check out the tacos (and drink specials) at Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, Taco Mac, Willy’s Mexicana Grill, Zocalo Atlanta and many other participating bars and eateries on the Atlanta Bar Crawl map. Taco tourists will receive a voting card at their last stop to vote for the “Best Tasting” and “Most Unique” tacos. Buy tickets, $25 per person, at Eventbrite.
ALDI and Instacart have partnered up to provide Atlanta area customers an online shopping and delivery option. To celebrate the partnership, customers can get $20 off their first Instacart order by using code ALDIDELIVERY at checkout, but only until September 30th (terms and conditions apply).
New from Chick-fil-A is the Hash Brown Scramble bowl their “tot” style hash browns, scrambled eggs, a monterey jack and cheddar cheese blend and a choice of sausage or grilled chicken (extra preparation time). Served with jalapeño salsa, the scramble can be a tasty start to your day.
The highly anticipated new Cook’s Warehouse store has found its home at Peachtree Station, a development at 5001 Peachtree Boulevard in Chamblee. The new store, which is 4,500 square feet larger than the former Brookhaven location, is opening Friday, August 18th with a grand opening party scheduled for August 25th and a chorus of festivities throughout that week.
Five Spot Cafe in Lawrenceville is your new favorite breakfast/brunch spot. Why you ask? Because they offer gluten-free french toast, pancakes, eggs benedict on gluten-free bread, hamburger buns and dessert. And they are super careful to prevent cross contact when preparing in a shared kitchen. Their sandwich bread and hamburger buns are from Pure Knead and the dairy-free brownies are made from scratch daily. All of their meats are Boar’s Head too. They also have an array of omelettes, mains and freshly squeezed juices. But that’s not all. They serve lunch and dinner so stop by and check out their gluten-free cuisine.
You can find the new Fudge Striped Goodie Girl Cookies at Walmart. Stock up because they are not available for sale online until October!
Rize Artisan Pizza closed its location at the 975 North Highland development on North Highland Avenue in Poncey-Highland rather suddenly. Plans for new locations have been put on hold. And it doesn’t look good for the Sandy Springs location, but I will keep my fingers crossed and hope it will survive, because it is the only place in Atlanta offering gluten-free pizza on freshly prepared crust that is light, airy, flavorful – and never frozen.
I need to get my hands on the new Peaches En Regalia from Treehorn Cider. It started hitting shelves and bartops in metro Atlanta on the 15th. What better way to cool off than with peach cider made in Georgia?
Have a safe and tasty weekend!
