Atlanta’s Gluten-free News – March 6th

Dekalb Farmers Market is selling gluten-free desserts in their refrigerated section. All of these desserts are made in house, so I am not sure about the possibility of cross contact during preparation. I would ask before purchasing because I don’t think they are able to provide a dedicated space, etc. for the preparation of gluten-free desserts. They are offering individual and whole desserts like, apple and key lime pies and fruit tarts.

Huh Natural & Real Food is available on Uber Eats. Just download the app and start ordering. They have recently added so many products to their menu, like waffles, chicken pot pies, coconut flan, brownie cake, cheesecake, bagels, donuts, and toasts – all are gluten and dairy free made in a dedicated gluten-free restaurant/bakery in Roswell. The line can be pretty long, so get there early.

Skip rush hour for the new happy hour at Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails. Every Monday-Thursday from 5-6 p.m., chef Derek Dollar and his team are offering half off prime filet mignon selections. Guests can choose from a six-ounce cut for $17.50 (normally $35) or a nine-ounce cut for $23 (normally $46). What a deal for a prime cut of meat!

Monday Night Brewing launched a hard seltzer line at the end of February called Narwater. According to Knox Bardeen’s column for 929thegame.radio, Narwater starts with Georgia sugar cane then gets real fruit added during a brewing process. The alcohol comes from a natural fermentation process. There’s a head when you pour a Narwater, there’s substance, and color. But there’s no artificial flavors or coloring. Narwater also boasts it’s just 95 calories and gluten free. And it is available in three flavors: Blueberry Raspberry, Mango Guava, and Grapefruit Pineapple. Narwater is be available in the taproom and then through distribution in Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.

The American Cider Association named Treehorn Cider the 2020 Cider Member of the Year! This award honors cideries with significant contribution to the industry and the association. Nominated by fellow cider makers, and voted on by the 14-member association board of industry leaders, Treehorn was honored for product innovation, passion for growing the industry nationwide and commitment to all things apple. They also had multiple nominations citing their mentorship of smaller cider makers, which is huge for the company.
