Atlanta’s Gluten-free News – February 28th

Taco Tuesday has a new destination – Bar Margot at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta. The new executive chef and Mexico City native, Edgar Kano, is bringing a taste of his hometown to your Tuesday lunch break. Step out of the office for Bar Margot’s Taco Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., weekly.
  • Tacos are $5 each (Adobe Chicken, Baja Shrimp, Grilled Skirt Steak)
  • Chips & Salsa or Guacamole, Esquites and Jicama are $5 each
  • Margarita of the week is $10 (Virgin available for $5)

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Bezoria Mideast Street Eats, which first opened in Midtown Atlanta in 2014 and currently operates three locations in the metro area, is undertaking an aggressive expansion plan. Bezoria intends to open five more Atlanta restaurants this year and 20 across the state of Georgia within the next three years.

Firehouse Subs is now offering a gluten-free bread option at participating locations. The gluten-free ciabatta-style sub roll is sourced from ScharAccording to Firehouse Subs, any medium sub can be made with a gluten-free roll for an additional $1.50 – $2. Firehouse Subs cannot guarantee an entirely gluten-free experience due to the fact that other menu items available in the chain’s restaurants contain gluten. Ask them to change their gloves before they make your sandwich and ask them to use fresh ingredients and clean utensils.

PITA Mediterranean Street Food is bringing its authentic, fresh and flavorful Mediterranean fare to Dacula with a grand opening celebration on Feb. 28 from 6-9 p.m. As this location debuts in its new community, the team expects hundreds of patrons to line up for the family-friendly event featuring a complimentary meal (one per guest) of PITA best sellers: gyros and falafel street pitas served with a side and a drink. PITA is located at 720 Dacula Road, Ste. 3C, Dacula, GA 30019 (Publix Shopping Center).

Sarah Jean’s Ice Cream in the Marietta square carries at least 10 of Revolution Gelato’s flavors, many of which are small batch and exclusive for scooping, like Eggnog. So head over to enjoy a scoop or two in a cup and support two of Atlanta’s small businesses.
