Atlanta’s Gluten-free News – December 13th

2B Whole Gluten-Free European Bakery’s new gluten-free and vegan edible chocolate chip cookie dough is officially on the shelves at Buford Highway Farmers Market in Decatur. Available in a 16 ounce container and a two-pack of three and a half ounce containers, look for it in the refrigerated section.

Erin McKenna’s Bakery is supplying Duff’s Cakemix Studios with all of their vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free cakes! According to VegOutLA, they are providing cake kits to Duff’s in two varieties, a two-layer, six inch cake, available in vanilla cake filled with white vegan frosting or chocolate cake filled with chocolate vegan frosting. The second offering is a Cupcake Kit, which includes six unfrosted cupcakes, also available in vanilla or chocolate. Each kit comes with the choice of assorted fondant, goodies, and vegan frostings. I love how Duff and his team see cakes and create such edible masterpieces. What a great partnership.

When gusto! opened its fifth outpost in Chamblee at 4945 Peach-tree Industrial Boulevard on Oct. 12, it stayed true to its commitment to support the surrounding community. The fast casual brand, known for its fresh, flavorful bowls and wraps, donated more than $600 to Angel Flight Soars, a non-profit organization at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport that arranges free air transportation for people who need to travel to receive lifesaving medical treatment but lack the means.

There is such a thing as a free lunch (or dinner) at gusto! On Sundays, kids eat free at the fast casual eatery’s Decatur location. With the purchase of one adult entrée, guests receive one free meal from the kids menu, which includes a selection of rice bowls, quesadillas or a tzatziki or hummus snacker. Each kids meal is served with sweet potato chips and a drink.
