Atlanta’s Gluten-free News – September 27th

Let the bubbles tickle your nose during the Atlanta Mimosa Festival in Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark. From 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, drink in bottomless samples of mimosas, wine, beer and cider, enjoy college football viewing and live music, and chill in the air-conditioned tent to the music of DJ Qtip. Food purchases are extra. Tickets can be purchased online in advance for this 21-and-up event.

Bantam + Biddy is close to its Atlanta Airport opening. Head to Concourse C for southern cuisine and cutting edge technology that will make it a snap to grab a gluten-free dish. What a treat to be able to have a sit down meal or take-out before departing.

Chipotle Mexican Grill opened August 31 at 1010 along Peachtree Street in Midtown.  The new eatery joins existing dining options Panera Bread and soon Sugar Factory in the street level of the luxury high-rise condo building.

Farm Burger opened a new location inside the Midtown Whole Foods Market while no one was looking, those crafty devils! ToneToATL says they will open their first restaurant in Athens in the former St. Joseph’s chapel at the 100 Prince development. This grass-fed burger chain grew out of what was once Farm 255 in Athens, so the opening of Farm Burger is a bit of homecoming for the eatery. Farm Burger Athens is slated to open in late spring or early summer 2020.

According to TonetoATL, Tin Drum Asian Kitchen in Johns Creek has “temporarily closed.”  The restaurant, located in Johns Creek Festival at 11160 Medlock Bridge Road, opened August 10, 2017, and within the past few days posted signage indicating that it is closed “temporarily.”

Zambawango Desserts & Coffee in Sandy Springs offers a low carb dessert selection free of sugar and gluten. All of the desserts have four grams or less of net carbs per generous serving and a full coffee menu with alternative milks. Choose from scones, cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownies, cakes and more. All of their baked goods are prepared in a shared environment, so cross contact is a concern.
