ALDI’s is opening a new store at Decatur Crossing shopping center on February 1st. To celebrate, ALDI is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:25 a.m. Following the ceremony, the first 100 customers to visit the store will receive a golden ticket, containing gift cards of various amounts. Customers can also tour the store, sample ALDI exclusive brand products and enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce. To celebrate National Hot Chocolate Day on Wed., Jan. 31Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta’s executive pastry chef Lasheeda Perry is bringing back her popular Drunken Hot Chocolate. Made with a mix of chocolate, Buffalo Trace bourbon, house-made marshmallows and cinnamon, you will not be able to pass this one up! But hurry. This limited edition, off-menu drink will only be available at Bar Margot for $12 through February 2.

Fifth Group Restaurants opened its fourth South City Kitchen 
restaurant in January at The Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta. The new outpost joins existing  locations in Midtown, Vinings and Buckhead. And their gluten-free options are on point!


Phoenix, Arizona based Sprouts Farmers Market plans to open its 17th Georgia store in Augusta later this spring. The store, which will anchor a new shopping center on Walton Way Extension, just off I-20, is expected to open May 2nd.

The Local Pizzaiolo opened Tuesday, January 23 in the former Bellwood’s Social House space next to 5 Seasons Brewing in Westside. The menu offers traditional Neapolitan pizzas with three gluten free options such as the Puttanesca with crushed tomatoes, Kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and capers.

Vego Bistro opened its new fast-casual restaurant space in Austell (3999 Austell Road) on January 31st. Now you can stop by to grab some gluten-free food and sit down to enjoy it. No more standing out in the cold weather in the LA Fitness parking lot. Don’t worry, their food truck is still making the rounds in and around Atlanta.
