Nosh on: Atlanta’s gluten-free news – October 27, 2017

Looking for some Halloween fun this weekend? Put on your costume and head over to Fernbank’s Boo-seum Trick-Or-Treat on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for spook-tacularly fun Halloween-themed activities. Enjoy ghoulish games, treats, a costume contest and more.
2B Whole Gluten-Free European Bakery is turning 3 and celebrating with a party Saturday October 28th! There will be Halloween cookie decorating, spooky treats on the menu and a scary photo booth.

Bar Margot’s Halloween cocktail – Boo! Eye See You – is made with mezcal, campari, hibiscus syrup, lime juice, bitters, absinthe, and topped with edible gummy googly eyes. It is only available from October 27 – October 31, it is $13 and is too cute to miss.

Concentrics Restaurant’s newest Atlanta offering, ALLORA, is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch in the TWELVE Hotel Midtown at Atlantic Station. Blending Italian classics with modern techniques and seasonal ingredients, the restaurant offers gluten-free pasta, small plates, creative salads, and entrees. All of their pasta sauces are gluten free and available in full or half sizes.

I had the most amazing gluten-free meal at Chama Gaucha where I learned that all of their meats are safe. About six months ago, they removed beer from the chicken marinade to expand offerings to those following a gluten-free diet. What a great decision and one truly appreciated by the gluten-free community. Open for lunch and dinner, the only place you will find gluten is at the salad bar and it is clearly marked. Even the cheese bread that arrives warm at the table is gluten free. Such a treat!

Nothing Bundt Cakes has added gluten-free chocolate chip cake to its menu in an individual size. It is only .30 more than the wheat-based version and they take steps to prevent cross contact. The gluten-free bundts are baked first thing in the morning after the kitchen has been sanitized. All of the ingredients are stored separately and once they run out, another batch is not prepared. Each bundt is topped with their signature butter cream cheese frosting.

According to TonetoATL, Salata will open their second Atlanta area location next month at Glenridge Point in Sandy Springs.  The new salad joint, like the chain’s first Atlanta area location that opened in Atlantic Station in September, replaces a former Moe’s Southwest Grill. The Glenridge Point location will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday November 9. In advance of their grand opening, the restaurant is offering complimentary “sneak peek” meals that one must register for here.
